Twitter Tests Report Option for Misleading Tweets
We’re testing a feature for you to report Tweets that seem misleading - as you see them. Starting today, some people in the US, South Korea, and Australia will find the option to flag a Tweet as “It’s misleading” after clicking on Report Tweet.

As Twitter Safety announced in a tweet on Twitter, the social media platform is testing a new option that allows users to report tweets that are indicated to be misleading. Currently, Twitter already has an information label that can be displayed on tweets, but this new option being tested will introduce user reporting.
In the tweet, Twitter explained that they are currently testing the feature in only a few countries, such as the United States, South Korea, and Australia, plus the test is limited to a few users. While Twitter hasn't been very specific in detailing the new flag feature, user selection is likely to be random just as it is every time Twitter tests a new feature.
Well, with this new option, users can now report misleading tweets with options for different types of tweets including those related to politics and Covid-19. So far, Twitter has not explained what will happen after a user reports a tweet. Twitter does mention that users shouldn't expect a response to every report, but rather that this step will identify a trend. It can be concluded, this flag option feature feels the same as Twitter reporting options in general.
But of course, because this feature is still in the testing phase and has not been officially introduced to the public, there is still no guarantee that this feature will be implemented in the regular Twitter application. It's possible, Twitter will make an improvement in a number of lines on this feature, or maybe even Twitter will not include this feature at all in the next Twitter updates.
Then How to Report Tweets With Misleading Content?
If you're an active Twitter user, then you know how to report misleading tweets. So, we no longer need to look for the menu to report the tweet because the steps are exactly the same.
All you have to do is open the Twitter app and open the tweet you want to try to report as “misleading”. Once you are in the tweet, all you have to do is tap the three dots menu in the upper right corner of the tweet. Then you will see the report tweet option next to the little flag icon at the bottom, after which you can see a new misleading option.
Twitter Trying Hard To Filter Influx Of Misinformation
With the craze for the amount of misinformation content on social media platforms, it's clear it's time for Twitter to clamp down on it. Unfortunately, the labels that exist on Twitter are not very effective at reducing the number of misinformation on the platform, but seeing this new option, we hope that each of these problems can be suppressed as much as possible by Twitter.
